Front Hub - Axle Repair procedures
Front hub assembly
| 1. |
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. |
| 2. |
Remove the wheel cap (A). 
|
Be careful not to damage to the wheel cap (A) when removing the it.
|
|
| 3. |
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
|
|
Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A). |

Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts, and then place the brake caliper assembly (A) with wire.
Tightening torque :
78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

Remove driveshaft nut (A) from the front hub under applying the brake.
Tightening torque :
274.6 ~ 294.2 N.m (28.0 ~ 30.0 kgf.m, 202.5 ~ 217.1 lb-ft)

The front hub coking nut should be replaced with new ones. |

After installation coking nut (A), stake the coking nut using a chisel and hammer as shown in the illustration below. |

Loosen the front brake disc mount screw and then remove the front brake disc (A).
Tightening torque :
4.9 ~ 5.8 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)

Loosen the bolt (A) and then remove the hub bearing (A).
Tightening torque :
78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal. |
Front axle assembly
| 1. |
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. |
| 2. |
Remove the wheel cap (A).
|
Be careful not to damage to the wheel cap (A) when removing the it. |

Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

4.9 ~ 5.8 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)

Remove the tie rod end ball joint (C) from the knuckle.

Remove the split pin (A). |
| (2) |
Remove the castle nut (B).
Tightening torque :
34.3 ~ 44.0 N.m (3.5 ~ 4.5 kgf.m, 25.3 ~ 32.5 lb-ft)

| 8. |
Loosen the mount bolt and then remove the wheel speed sensor (A) from knuckle.
Tightening torque :
8.8 ~ 13.7 N.m(0.9 ~ 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 10.1 lb-ft)

| 9. |
Loosen the lower arm mounting and then remove the lower arm (A).

Remove the split pin (B). |
| (2) |
Loosen the mounting nut and bolt.
Tightening torque :
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

| 10. |
Disconnect the driveshaft (A) from the front hub assembly. 
|
| 11. |
Loosen the strut mount bolts and then remove the knuckle assembly (A).
Tightening torque :
137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal..488.3 |
| 1. |
Loosen the hub mounting bolt and remove the hub assembly from the axle.
Tightening torque :
78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

| 2. |
Loosen the dust cover monuting bolts (A) and then remove the dust cover from the axle.
Tightening torque :
6.8 ~ 10.7 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.0 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)

| 3. |
Reassembly in the reverse order of disassembly. |
| 1. |
Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear. |
| 2. |
Check the brake disc for scoring and damage. |
| 3. |
Check the knuckle for cracks. |
| 4. |
Check the bearing for cracks or damage. |

Pull down rear door window glass by pressing the power window glass switch.
2.
Remove the rear door trim.
(Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Trim")
3.
Remove the rear door belt outside weatherstrip (A).

After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the rear door delta garnish (A)...
